2014 marks the 21st St. Kerrill’s Festival and we’re going to celebrate it in style! This year’s Festival will run from Saturday 7th June to Sunday 15th June.
Following on from last year’s successful Gurteen Gathering we will be kicking off the Festival on Saturday 7th with the popular Soapbox Derby so it’s time to hit the toolshed & get building that Go-Kart. There will be prizes for the fastest & most fun Soapboxes.
The Community Tea Party will take place on Sunday 8th with lots of yummy treats in store & time to catch up with your friends & neighbours.
St. Kerrill’s Day will be celebrated traditionally on Friday 13th June with Mass in Fr. Griffin Memorial Church at Noon followed by the annual Pilgrimage Walk to St. Kerrill’s Well. Our 21st birthday celebration will take place on St. Kerrill’s Night with a Western Country Hoedown! So dust off the stetson & cowboy boots & get ready for some line dancing & lots of craic! This year’s Festival Draw will take place on the night with two tickets for Garth Brooks opening concert in Croke Park up for grabs. Tickets are on sale in Mitchell’s Pub.
The Golden Pen Competition prizegiving takes place on Saturday 14th at St. Kerrill’s National School. This long running Short Story & Poetry Competition is open to all.
Last year’s Sports Day was so successful that it was televised to over 20 million people in Japan!!! Are you ready to become Bogolympic Champion??? Time to get training for the coveted title. There will be lots of fun for all the family!
